How to run fast in the first place without sprinting? How to generate speed? In this video I try out 6 running technique enhancements that I spotted in almost every elite runner's slow motion footage.
I explain what these elements of speed are and put them to the test progressively one after the other, adding up successive speed and efficiency gains.
Ultimately, I was able to gain 50 seconds per km (1'20'' per mile) in terms of pace, in my first try at applying these running technique improvements, increasing my stride length by 30 cm (11.8 in) while maintaining the same cadence and a similar effort.
