Less than two weeks out from my IRONMAN debut in Texas, things are starting to get real.
The training is getting very specific now - today's run was 8 x 6 minutes at goal IRONMAN marathon pace, with 2 minutes float recovery between each rep.
I also get in a 2-hour bike session, starting with an easy ride on the road before finishing the second hour indoors on the stationary bike for heat training - preparing for the tough conditions expected in Texas.
With a stacked field and some of the best in the world on the start line, this is the final stretch of preparation before stepping into my first IRONMAN.
Am I ready? We'll find out soon.
