As a 2:14 marathoner knocking out a local race every week, you’d think I’d be picking up a fair few wins along the way… ah, think again, my friend. This is Japan - a whole different beast. The land of marathon monks, where victories are ever so elusive and I’m yet to win a single marathon in my 2 years of living here. Some would say running 280km as a "taper" probably isn’t the best way to go about it… well, challenge accepted. Let’s try to rewrite the science today!
